What is Pilates?

Pilates is a mind-body exercise modality that allows for the re-education of movement patterns, strength and stability through a specific repertoire of exercises.

You do not need a GP referral to see one of our physiotherapists or to start a group therapy class.
Your initial assessment and first two individual sessions are claimable as they are done by a registered physiotherapist. Thereafter, if your class is supervised by a physiotherapist you will be able to claim your group therapy classes. If your class is taken by one of our Pilates/Gyrotonic instructors, it is not claimable.

We recommend a minimum of two sessions per week ideally. The benefit of this type of exercise is enhanced by the frequency of practice.

Pilates is a mind-body exercise modality that allows for the re-education of movement patterns, strength and stability through a specific repertoire of exercises. It allows feedback through both compression and distraction of the joints and strengthens the stabilizers of the joints.

The GYROTONIC® Method is also a mind-body exercise modality that restores the natural full range of spinal and peripheral joint movements through a series of spiralling exercises facilitated by specific equipment. In addition to creating joint stability through the decompression of joints, it enhances mobility through the fascial, neural and visceral systems.
